    which blades ?

    Hi All

Just starting part time in the print and sublimation industry was gifted a Roland BN20 and Graphtec cutter i need new blades for both machines.
what's the recommendations go with originals(quite expensive) or i have seen smart knives and cleancut blades(SAYING AS GOOD AS ORIGINALS).

    seems a minefield

I read this the other day as I buy a lot of blades for my graphtec.

I dropped them an email and enquired how to purchase as I couldn’t see any way to purchase online.
Well I was a little shocked with the sarcastic reply I got and not sure if it was meant to be banter or just rude?

So now awaiting reply and hoping I read it wrong.

Phone up and order some, think thats what the 'orders' page suggests. If you speak with the owner he will talk all day about details and ins and outs of cutter blade use from setting up to anything else to do with them. They are not the cheapest but they are confident they are pretty much the best about and do really last and last, I've 5 and after three years still got a couple left to use. Ideally you should test your cutter pressure daily and adjust to temperature and conditions and materials though it's not always done and usually where damage to the blades can occur.

Had one arrive in this mornings post with an invoice for £30.
only cut some small decals with it so far but it seems to be ok.

I did have to change my setup a little to accommodate the new blade.
My cutting pressure is down to 7 now where as it was on 10 with the last blade.

got some banner vinyl and reflective vinyl to cut in a few minutes so I will keep you updated on how it goes.

I think i should start start a new thread really. ;)

Don’t cut reflective with the new blade!!!!!!! It is tougher and may blunt it. I always use an old blade with higher pressure.
