    Adhesive Spray (heat pressing)

I can't seem to find the post now...

What adhesive spray do people use to lightly hold their paper in place while pressing? We do a lot of smaller items, tape is okay.. but fiddly.

This is what we use, and when we last bought was the cheapest supplier ... but AFAIR they had price breaks for buying multiples, and a lower carriage paid level, so be good to shop around.

Although it's only really good for textiles work, as it leaves a residue that's horrible and noticeable on hard surfaces that is hard to ge off, which you don't get on fabrics.

The (Inktec) transfer paper we use now has a slight tackiness to it when heated, so clings to fabrics as well as hard surfaces, but doesn't leave a residue.

Primarily only work with textiles, so it's worth trying. We've only tried Inkexperts paper at the moment, transfer is really, really good. So not needed to try anything else. But the tackiness of the Inktec paper might work too.

    Cheers Pisquee!

Have you tried the spray from Gunold or Madeira? This spray is used to hold backing paper in place when framing thin or delicate fabrics. Dont know how it works under a heat press or if it leaves a residue, but its much cheaper. I think I pay around 6€ a can.

I use 3M ReMount spray to hold things to my cutter mat and it leaves no residue, but I don't know how it performs under heat, I'll have to give it a go.

I've tried cheaper sprays from ebay but they were terrible, stringing and spraying in clumps.

Screen printers spray tack might work. Don't know if they will stop the image sublimating, but I doubt it. Try Screen Print World or Wicked Printing Stuff.
