    Mini heat press

    Hi,

Can anyone recommend a mini heat press? I have a Hotronix and was looking into getting a smaller platen for it but sadly they are crazy money and figure I could buy a smaller press for a little more money.

Just looking for a better way for doing smaller bits such as chest logo's, bags etc :)

    Many Thanks

I think a smaller lower platen for your press would be around the same price as a plate press or cap press (£130 ish).

Yes spot on, £130 for a small bit of aluminium is crazy to me, sure I could pick up a small press for around £200, just need to find one ha ha

You could possibly source a cheaper press but imo I'd stick with the better quality press you have, you know it works well for you so bite the bullet and get the smaller platen but I agree, not cheap :-)

not sure what the fitment is like on the Hotronix but I made a platen to fit Adkins a few years back. I got the steel cut to size, coated it with heat proof paint, bought a thick rubber mat and it worked a treat....could this be an option for you?

Im not looking to replace the hotronix, just want to add a small press to use along side it for small work.

Im pretty hardy when it comes to knocking bits up, but the stahls has a slide in pin fitment, that would be hard to make without some proper metal working tools.
