    Large format inkjet printing quality

I was viewing the print quality on an Epson 1500W loaded up with good quality pigment ink and printed onto professional photographic inkjet paper. Magnified through a photographic loupe, I can see very fine horizontal printing lines on the print. These are not visible to the naked eye.

So my question is, do top quality large format printers also print these fine horizontal lines when viewed through a magnifying loupe?

Also, has the 1500 being recently aligned? and was the nozzle check perfect?

Brand new 1500W, aligned and perfect nozzle check.

The reason I ask, is because I do passport photos. On the Australian photo guidelines for photographers, they state that no inkjet printers can be used because these horizontal lines show up in their scan of the photograph. They only allow dyesublimation printers which I don't really want to buy.

So if I upgraded printer, are these lines still present in the highest quality printers?

I prrinted the photo for our first daughter's passport on a Epson Stylus Pro 4000 on photo paper - had no problems with it getting approved for being in the passport, or the passport working. I just assumed it would be fine, and ignored the rules, as I figured the rule on not using computer printers didn't apply to pro/commercial level printers, but was more to stop everyone just using their crappy home printers.
