yes buddy, I have a thermometer inside the oven, and wait until its reaches 190 then pop the mug in, I also time it using my phone for 9 mins, and as you remove straight away from the oven, remove wrap, wait until 30 secs then remove the paper. sometimes it works great other times I get a strange ghosting kind of like a doubling effect on the text, and sometimes the black is not as black as it could be, like its faded.

Its very annoying as it seems 1 out 3 mugs works, I cant think how people can make money from doing it, and you waste so many mugs, and time when it doesn't work.

I have 30 mugs to do for this charity event and thinking I may need to order about 60 mugs ha ha.

what do you think could be causing the ghosting effect? and when you dunk into water do you keep the green wrap on?

Thanks for you ideas and help though mate :)

The ghosting could be due to various reasons:

    1. Mis-shaped mugs, where the pressure from the wrap isn't evenly distributed.

    2. Slight movement of the paper when peeling, or leaving on the mug too long before peeling.

    3. Weak, or stretched silicone wraps.

    4. Quality of the mug coating.

If dunking, I normally remove the silicone wrap first, then dunk the mug, with paper print attached, into fairly hot water to stop the sublimation process without disturbing the print. I then immediately remove the soaked print while still under water. It comes off very easily. I then give the mug a good rub with an old towel to remove any residue that may have been left by the paper.

Ok cheers Buddy, don't think its the wraps as they are brand new, Im very careful when taking the mugs out of the oven and only lift them out by the handle.

Is the ink still drying when they come out the oven? could when taking the wrap off, the paper could be moving making the ink ghosting? and at what point does the ink stops sublimating on the mug?

Im going to order some different mugs to see if its the mugs giving me issues :) thinking about trying the listawood ones ;)

I would say that webtrekkers advice is always highly valuable (well worth a tenner!) so perhaps pay £10 to become premium member here on DSF then get 10% off mugs either via Listawood or Xpres (5013 is our preferred mug of choice).

Hello. Lots of info found on this forum as to mug comparisons. For us then we wouldn't choose anything else (Xpres 5013) but we only supply high end gift shops and tourism centres (rather than promotional mugs which would be cheaper) so we have come to found these very consistent, no problem with faded print near base and can water dunk without any chance of cracking. Worth looking at all supplier mugs perhaps depending on your requirements.

Lisa, I would be interested in a sample mug if the offer is there? I was looking on your site last night and the short list is between yours and Xpres as recommend by UK printed Mugs, very much the same in terms of price.

Could explain the difference between the A grade & AAA grade?

    Thanks, Mark
