    Embroidery on polo shirt collars

    Hi All

    Hoping someone can help...

We are running Tajima machines and have a job for embroidery onto either side of some polo shirt collars. The embroidery will be text approx 7 characters long.

Do we need any special hoops for this as we are struggling to hoop it up?

Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated please.

    Many thanks

    Rajiv

Hi Rajiv. I use the frame for the polo back (28x28cm). Frame it with strong cut away and stitch the design in the middle onto a piece of test cloth. Cut this out and now you have the position of the stitching. I then surround the stitch area with double sided tape at about 1cm away from the hole. I cover the hole with tear away using spray glue to give the collar some backing. Maybe use cut away if the collar needs it.
The double sided tape will hold the collar in position and usually lasts for around 10 jobs before needing replacing. I also have a strong peg or two to hold the polo in place on the edge of the frame.
If there is another way Id love to know.
    Good luck.

you can use a multi frame, or the sticky backed tape ones
