    Faulty mug press element

    Hello,

I mentioned in an earlier thread that I had made an order from Coralgraph.

After I opened up the box I noticed that one mug element was damaged. I contacted Coralgraph promptly upon receipt of the goods. Now I have had time to upload the pictures here so you can see.

I was told that it's maybe cosmetic damage but I am afraid that it will affect the prints in a negative way with cold spots because the inner mug mat is damaged.

What should I do in this situation? I haven't got time to test in the coming days because I am awaiting my order of mugs by next week. But just by looking at it, is it something that's Dead on arrival/or return to base? Or is it normal to get a mug element in such a condition?

I am grateful for all replies.

Tell them you want a replacement, the outer skin should be perfect, clean and damage free.

By the way, that’s a bloody thick blanket, does it take a few days to warm up :-)

Thanks for the reply. Was told by Coralgraph that it's maybe a cosmetic damage and that I should test it first. Now I have sent an email to them asking for a replacement element.

Tell them you tested it and it’s no good.

I have already sent the email, so will see what they will say. Actually I am looking for a long-term supplier. Actually it's in cases where things go wrong one can determine which supplier is the better one. An element is a few tenners. So let's hope they sort it out professionally.

It will affect the print, no question. I agree entirely, this is where decent suppliers can be separated from not so decent. It should just be replaced without question from a safety and customer service point of view.

Thanks for the reply. I initially thought it would be replaced without question and then was told it's maybe cosmetic. I will give an update as soon as I hear more from them.

If you are looking for local suppliers to Berlin I would suggest Printequipment as they have a branch near you. Or ( and Ive forgotten their name) there is another local to you whose name begins with an S. When I remember it I will post again.
Printequipment have the Genie press at the same price as Listawood in the UK. Their support is second to none.

Thanks @Earl Smith. The Genie Press looks interesting. Yes of course it's great if the support is second to none. Will definitely try Printequipment out in the near future.

If you buy a Genie or equivalent , get the extras too. It comes with 5 other blankets so you can press all types of mugs. I bought mine as a backup from Listawood and then learnt about the one at Print-equipment. Same price and same press. The extra blankets are well worth the small extra cost.
