    Neil Brothers Orca Mugs

Can anyone comment on the quality of their Orca AAA Mugs?

I printed some 'double coated' Orca Signzworld mugs which I purchased last year, but the colour reproduction is dreadful. Really dull compared to the 5013 mug.

My Listawood Marie-DG AAA mugs are being sent back and I can't avoid having them sent again! The 5013 mugs have a long dent going round the bottom circumference, preventing full top to bottom printing.

I need a 10oz mug that I can actually print on.

Very good mugs. The main thing with Orca, if you ask the factory for a cheaper mug they will oblige by lowering the quality. Same as anywhere really. AAA will be their best though. I have used what is essentially Orca green level mugs which are still very good. Base can be a little thicker so might need some warming on printing to the bottom with a deep colour.

We regularly print XP5013 full top to bottom, are you using a press rather than an oven?

I'm using the oven and I've managed to source wraps which are super tight. The issue preventing full top to bottom printing is with the shape of my current mugs or the coating isn't up to standard. I suppose I could spend another £500 minimum spend just to try a box of Neil Brothers AAAs!

Sorry I thought you meant you were already using 5013's? I can see what you mean by the shape but we don't have any issues printing top to bottom.....

Pretty close to handle as well....

Very impressed Justin - makes me want to start using our oven again rather than the bank of presses we have.

I've gone back to doing odd mugs on the presses but immediately noticed a slight blur compared to printing in the oven, maybe ned to adjust my time a little on the press.

I've been using 5013 mugs again for the last week or so, but they have always had this dent travelling right round the bottom for years, about 5mm up causing a faded patch. The top of the mug will have a section where it hasn't printed either.

Personally I don't like full top to bottom and encourage customers to allow a 5mm gap top and bottom to complement the gap adjacent the handle, also obviously helps avoid this issue.

Which oven and wraps are you using Gary?

In this case Justin, it's the mug. You can see the distortion and shadow in the ceramic even before printing. It's too deep to print on regardless of the wrap.
