    Yellow ink not printing...

Hi all, I’m hoping someone with a bit more experience than me can advise, I have an Epson xp-900 with sublisure ink (brand new), set it up, set icc profiles etc but the colour was off. After advice from where I bought it from, I have run a nozzle check and a couple of cleanings due to broken lines, now all other colours ok but the yellow is just not pulling through at all.

I have done a total 4 nozzle checks and cleanings, but it’s just not printing any yellow, what on earth am I doing wrong?

    thanks

Are you sure the yellow isn't OK? Sometimes you can't see yellow on the paper with the naked eye. Try a uv or magnifying glass just to check.

If it's definitely not coming through you can try pulling ink through by inserting a syringe without needle into the cart and slowly pulling back, you should see the ink flowing.

Don't ever do any more than 3 headcleans, it's just wasting ink. Unplug and leave for 24 hours.

    I’ve had this happen before.
all I did was take and fill a square in any program and print full yellow a4 size.

I printed this several times and when no ink was coming through I removed and then reseated the ink cartridge.
Repeated the printing of the square and repeated the whole process around 4-5 times until ink came through.

For some reason I had one cartridge that wouldn’t allow the ink to flow.
I think the removal and reseating the cart solved it in the end.

Thanks, there’s definitely nothing there (tried light from all angles, and the black light, absolutely nothing) Did the 3 nozzle cleans to get it to print the lines right, last one was ‘for luck’ lol

I’ll give the print yellow/reseat cartridge a try before the syringe option, thank you both so much for your replies

I think I need to speak to the place I got it from tomorrow...

when setting the printer up there was a cyan cartridge issue, it wasn’t being recognised. I used the spare cart I had bought to complete the set up, but looking at the yellow now to reseat it, there appears to be a significant amount of blue ink leached into the cartridge.

i don’t think this was something I have done, I’ve used printers for years and just followed the instructions, I hope this wasn’t something I did anyway!

    should it be this difficult?

    It’s just a printer.
no it shouldn’t be hard but it does look like you have installed the yellow into the wrong position on the printer hence the blue in the yellow cart.

post an image of the printer where the carts sit as it is and just check they are on the right Locations.

Promise I didn’t put it in the wrong slot, it’s idiot proof, although I have used inkjet canons for years and a short dalliance into a HP laser, I have recently set up an epson ecotank before this without any problems. There were some issues when setting up the printer, got this message...

    and the carts are...

I haven’t put the yellow back in, I replaced the clip from the bottom and sealed it in a baggie.

Issue resolved. Appears to be a couple of faulty cartridges - they’ve been exchanged and all is working as it should now - thanks for your help & suggestions, much appreciated.
