    That’s a smart move.
I use mugs from mdp but others use signzworld without problems as I used to.

    Hi

I started to read all the replies to see if this has already been answered but got a bit bored halfway LOL

All I will say is that this is definitely your mug coating, I have had this once on a smaller mug that had come from a reputable supplier who admitted the coating was wrong on the very first batch (which is where mine came from).

I presume you will get it sorted :-)

As the ink bonds into the coating at a chemical level - I would say it's impossible for the sublimated ink alone to come away, but if the coating comes off the ink will come with it.
If the ink has not sublimated properly into the coating then it could wash off (and could equally just rub off)
Looks like the coating isn't good, or hasn't adhered to the mug properly.

thanks for the replies guys. Sorry for the delay but I've been away on holiday. I'm going to order a new printer and ink this week and start all over again. I hope that will solve the problem but if it doesn't then I'll look at the mugs. Thanks for everyone's replies

    Hey folks, new here.

gavham, did you get a new printer and inks and if so, how did it go with the Signzworld and Pixmax mugs?

I'm new too all this but, I did get my printer, inks and paper from Ink Experts just from doing some Google searches so it's nice to know I've bought good supplies from a reputable supplier.

I've only printed about 50 mugs (eBay & Etsy sales) and have tried Signzworld's cheaper £32/36 eBay mugs and their Ox Mugs from their website. Being new to this biz I don't know how critical I should be of the mugs but I felt many of the cheaper ones had pits or the handles not fully coated etc but, personally not seen any printing issues, ie no "chipping" type issues.

I just bought some Pixmax mugs off eBay and another lot of Ox Mugs as I'm trying test other suppliers.

So, sounds like we have similar setups.

Do you see any improvements in prints assuming you're using Ink Experts supplies?
