I paid my bill on the 16th march of £45 thinking it was quite steep but then today i looked at my account balance and it says -$84!!!

Is this the outstanding amount i have to pay so far this month since the 16th?
If so im ditching etsy thats disgusting.

Have you got advertising running on your account?
Have you listed (or renewed) a lot of new products?

No advertising running well I don’t think so?
i only have 12 listings active so I don’t understand how they have come to that conclusion.

Just went through settings and I was enrolled in offsite ads.
every sale I made deducted 15% plus the standard fees then PayPal fees etc so my profit margin went from only just making a pound to pence.

No ad campaigns running Though thank god.

With Offsite ads, you only get charged when you make a sale, so if you're getting lots of these you'll need to factor this cost in - unless your T/O is low enough to opt out.
We have to opt in due to our T/O but so far only have one sale from it, so hard to predict any pattern of which products to cost in for it

Yeah my sales have increased massively since off site add started and I make about a pound profits from some orders but they are orders I wouldn't have got before. That shouldn't cause you to have a negative etsy balance though?

They do give you a reasons for very fee thats is taken out. I can't see it being anything other than ads? In my experience you should never have a negative balance if you are making sales unless you are running ads.

I would love to know the cause.

Check your on site ads. They are the money drainer. If 30 people click on an ad, but only one person buys your product. Then you can easily ramp up a debt. Switch off the poor performing ads.

For on site ads, they can work very well, but takes some experimenting to work out which products work and which don't, and what minimum budget you need set for them to work enough without overspending.
