Best Printer for Simple Sublimation Use

    Hi All,

I'm Molly - and I'm in the process of setting up some sublimation work producing sportswear.

I am planning on starting small, just with socks and t-shirts.

I have done a huge amount of research and understand the physical process of sublimation print to garment.

However I am completely baffled when it comes to hardware!!

I have looked at the Epson SC-F500 - is this any good? Which ink would this use?

I have read a lot about Sawgrass - but I'm still unsure.

Sorry to post - I really wanted to avoid asking such a generic question - but I am too confused and could really use some advice.

What printers and ink do you guys use?

    Thanks,
    Molly

I am also wondering about the Epson SC-F500. Interested in feedback from people using it. Pros / Cons ... would you recommend this printer?

Great printer by all accounts but do you need something this expensive if you're just starting out?

Personally I use a VJ628 which is a brilliant but expensive 25" workhorse. Also have smaller models, Epson 1500, L850 etc.

What sizde do you need to print at? Remember you'll need a press to match!

You're not too far from Xpres in Castle Donington, worth booking a visit to see the range of printers they have.

Hi Molly - don't know much about this particular printer but just wondering, do you require a printer as big as this for children's T-Shirts and socks?

I purchased a second hand Epson XP455 for £21 as I'm just a beginner, Its producing good results so far, but I can't seem to get the Subli lite paper to work properly with it.
