How difficult would it be to switch between dye inks and pigment ink say i wanted to do both clothing and canvas?

Impossible. The amount of flushing you would have to do between each inks and then testing to ensure ink is not mixed would put you off and probably use all ink up. Based on having had two P800 for sublimation then do not print with pigment ink and then change to dye inks but just use with dye from day one.

Take a while to clean 9 colours, but probably do-able.
Couldn't you justify an A3 printer for garments? Epson 7720 comes with pigment ink. Worse case you end up with a good all in one office printer.
