    Nomex Heat Mat

    Hi all

I am looking to purchase a Nomex heat mat so I can press ornaments and tiles on my clam press. Can anyone tell me where i can purchase one?

Alternatively, has anyone got suggestions for something that will be a substitute for this particular mat?

    Many thanks.

Not sure about that particular one, but would a SOFT PAD from The Magic Touch or a Teflon pillow do the job just as well?

I have never heard of the Nomex brand, but from I have Googled, it is a conductor of heat that is also soft so you can effectively turn your flatbed in to a basic vacuum press. Both the above items are very good conductors so might work just as well

    Hi Socialgiraffe

    Thank you for your reply.

I think I will try the Teflon pillow you suggested.

Apparently, they use the Nomex heat mats in America, they are not that well known here.

I wasn't sure about the Teflon pillow for sublimating ceramic ornaments which is why I thought the Nomex heat mat would be better.

    Many thanks.

For slates, tiles or glass flat ornament this is what you need: https://ebay.to/3hX0Slx
Or any other as long as is not textured. I use it for years and I only used two as they do not break easy.

    Thank you Paul.

I am planning to print small white ceramic ornaments. Do you think the Silicon will be ok to use on these. They are quite thin and fragile.

    kind regards.

yes, It will be fine. is all about how much you going to squeeze it in your heat press :)
when using matt you need to increase some temperature and time btw...
