    Acrylic block two layer printing?

    Does anyone know how acrylic blocks are produced that have two layers? Currently I'm using standard sublimation acrylic blocks to produce my images of local history images. That only allows an image to be sublimated to the rear of the block, however I stumbled on the example below where there are two layers of image; on the rear as standard, but also on/near the front, creating a really interesting effect and shadows on the background.

    I'm going to guess that this is some kind of cold lamination effect. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find out more about this please?

    Hi I don't think these are in separate layers of acrylic. They seem, to me anyway, to just be a back print and a front print, with the front print casting shadows on the back. Here's another example from the same people and is more easy to make out ...

    Yes, I'm pretty sure it's not a two-layers of acrylic job as well. I think it's almost certainly some kind of front and rear cold lamination technique. The back-printing would be easy enough, with a standard sublimation acrylic, but I'd love to know how the front image is applied. Cold lamination or even direct printing somehow?

    Hi Anne

    This affect can be produced on a flatbed UV printer;

    I have attached a picture of a sample produced on our demo Roland LEF printer

    If you would like more information please give me a call.

    Many thanks for the info, Ricky. Wish I had that kind of money!
