Sg3100DN suddenly priting blue colour as black

So my printer that has been fine for years suddenly printed black instead of blue today. The ink was low so I thought it was that and put in a brand new ink but it is still printing black. The only thing I'd done different was to open a pdf that I'd created in Coreldraw and pull that into my Photoshop file and that's the item that shows as blue on the screen but prints as black. I created a new file and drew a blue square but that printed black too. Any ideas how to fix it?

Exactly the same thing happened to my daughter last week but not with a sub printer (Canon TS5050). It was caused by the black cartridge leaking and contaminating the adjacent cyan cartridge.

We solved it by removingvall the carts, thoroughly cleaning the carrier, then replacing with new refillable carts filled with new ink.

I see my Ricoh SG3110DN has the cyan catridge adjacent to the black too ........

Thanks for the reply Webtrekker that's interesting. I use the sawgrass ink so I don't want to replace them at £40+ a go but I'll inspect them to see if there is any sign of leakage. Maybe it's time to switch to a new printer that uses cheaper ink.

no sign of leaking in the section where the inks clip in. But I've never done any nozzle checks or maintenance in the 5 years, should I have been?

Why not go with sublisharp inks from inkexpress, no need to flush and a fraction of the price, they have lasted me ages (re-fillable carts), just whack em straight into the ricoh and away you go.
