    Sublimation print problem

So I have been printing some santa sacks for famiy but i can't seem to get it to really ping the colour out.

i am pressing at 180 for 60 secs.

as you can tell i'm pretty new to printing. what would you guys do in your process of printing is there any good information on heat times etc.

Also I have been having problems with printing stuff bigger than my heatpress, so all over type print.

Any newbie advice would be greatly appreciated....

Also i am having a problem with colours printing in a different colour to what is shown on adobe ps blacks turnng green how can i sort this, have i missed a setting when pinting .

What printer/paper/inks are you using? Are the sacks 100% white polyester?

Colours sounds like a profile or setting issues. Do you have the correct icc profile installed?

Hi Justin, Thanks for your reply i'm using a epsom p800 with titan x paper with sublinova ink. I'm also using a custom icc profile from ink experts, so shouldn't be a problem. Yes the sacks are 100% white polyester, I had the same thing with some pillow cases. the black seems to come out green.

    I will upload a pic.Pillow case.jpg

On photoshop they both looked the same colour then on printing it changed. also the printing was patchy but i believe this to be moisture so I pre press for longer.....Any ideas of the best way to practice can I buy polyester on a roll, I don't want to be buying these all the time. Also will all polyester bobble like that looks rubbish.

    1. In Photoshop move the mouse pointer over the colours and check in the 'Info' panel that they are pure black , rgb(0,0,0) or #000000. Make sure your document is in RGB mode and not CMYK.

    2. Yes, you can buy white, 100% polyester fabric with a range of finishes by the metre or by the roll from numerous outlets. Then you can either print then cut & sew, or cut & sew then print. Use a lint roller before printing for best results. As for temps and times, 190 deg C for 60 secs is a good starting point.

    Another simple check.

When you click print and the print preview box opens does it state photoshop manages colour and the icc profile name is selected?

also check that the colour correction options are off.

Mr tea yes and yes, this is why it has thrown me. I have been going through checking my settings but maybe as webtrekker has said I will start to check the colours before printing.
