iMac Wanted - Must have SSD

Looking for an iMac, ideally a 27" but would take right spec 21". i3 at a push, would prefer i5 upwards. MUST have decent size SSD, not interested in older one with normal HDD.

Please PM if you are selling anything. Plenty available locally but wanted to ask on here first before I go hunting ;-)

Just been offered mid 2010 21" iMac locally, has Apple wireless keyboard and mouse, i3, 500 HDD, 4gb ram. Working perfectly, £100!

Despite what I've just posted, I'm going to get this and have a go upgrading as the risk is so low.

Still keeping eye open for SSD model. Also found one 2 weeks old, cost £1300 and they'll take £800. Great buy but more than I want to pay right now!

From what I gather, fitting an SSD to an iMac (depending on model) can be a nightmare if you don't know what you're doing.

i saw an online guide, looked pretty strightforward tbh honest but there are temp sensors that have to be refitted to new SSD and I know you can only use certain brands.

it is actually really easy, it just needs a different bracket as SSD is much smaller. I have upgraded my 2010 to SSD, it works like a brand new one after the swap.

I got the £100 iMac, it's like new, bargain. Yes it has the slower drive, at the moment I'm not letting it bother me but I think.sooner or later I'll upgrade to SSD.

Just missed another iMac yesterday, i5 year newer, 16gb. £100 agaun.
Owner couldn't get it up and running, simply needed os reinstall.

Haha of course you may! In a nutshell, I'm fed up to the back teeth with Windows and it's the only viable alternative. I still have the MacBook. I started to move over to Linux Mint which is fantastic but simply doesn't have the support I need day to day for printers etc. So, it had to be Apple.

I get on fine with my MacBook, only issue I ever really had with my iMacs was that they were so slow compared to my PC, hence the SSD insistance. Oh that and I also hate Adobe but sometimes you gotta dance with the devil.
