    recommendation for new vinyl cutter

I'm after a larger vinyl cutter now been looking at pixmax 28" are they any good from any ones experience and will they run on a Mac
also I love the silhoutte software and was wondering if I can still edit my designs in that as its easy to use then just import them to the software with the new cutter
    thanks in advance

    What is your budget?
The new 24" Silhouette Cameo 4 Pro looks like an interesting step up from the old Cameo, and would fit your criteria for software compatibility.

Halfway between a Cameo and a full on pro cutter such as the Graphtec, Summa or Roland models at less than £600.

The 2 year warranty and the software compatibility would swing it for me, if I were prepared to wait.

If you are going to buy cheaper pay on your credit card (not through a paypal payment gateway) so you are covered by section 75 liability. Any problems and the credit card company is jointly liable.

You'll need the paid-for Silhouette Designer to be able to export as SVG if this is the format supprted by your new cutter. There's software out there that will conver Silhouette files to SVG but I can't remember the name of it.

Have you considered a used summa? Thats how I started, machine was 10 years old when I bought it, it ran like a tank every day for 5 years before it died.

Seriously if you can push your budget go for a graphtec.
if you don’t need 24” go for a 14” model even second hand.

I love mine it’s an amazing machine and with the smart blades from Edward Mathias it’s cheap as chips to run.
