Paper sticking to ceramic xmas decs

    Hi All

Has anyone experienced this with the round ceramic discs?

Not seen anything in any of the threads about it whilst discussing pressing issues etc.

Tried papers Xpres / TexPrint XPHR both same result.

Pressing them on Adkins flat bed with padding underneath, then silicone sheet, decorations with fab pad on top
    195 400 secs

    Z

Sounds like you are getting to much heat into them and the coating starts to melt which bonds into the fibers of the paper. Try a lot less time as 400 seems way to much.

Thanks Andrew, appreciate that. I think we had started with less but upped it for some inconsistencies. In retrospect it looks like it was the wrong thing to tweak :)

Hi Zoe, I don't know if you're still having this issue but I experienced the exact same thing last year. I actually stopped selling them earlier than I would have liked because I got so fed up of it, but I found that if I dropped the temp and time any lower than the ideal, the print would come out faded, but the actual pressure on the press is a huge factor, the higher the pressure the worse it sticks!

Hi Amy, we have a bit of progress on it - not perfect but far better!

Only using TexPrint paper which stick less than the rest
Silicone baking sheet top and bottom
Remove paper as soon as press opens (using silicone spatula to hold down the decs while we tear off paper - taped on three sides so we can get the spatula in)
Cleaning using a wet wipe and wearing some of those exfoliating gloves to get a bit of abrasion through the wipe.
It's working well although we have 2500+ to do in the next week so we may well be calling it a day after that!
