Ebay sales collapsed. Guess I am not alone...?

I rarely visit the forums on eBay. But as my eBay sales have nose dived since July, I thought I would have a browse on the forum.
It appears I am not alone, however I accept that the forums there do provide a "moan" orientated view. So I thought I would ask the wise folks here if you have seen the same thing?

My sales don't normally dip and eBay for me has always only been UK sales so loss of sales into Europe isn't a factor. My sales on other platforms are holding steady, so is it just eBay in general or have eBay changed something that I need to do but missed?

Erm. So ebay has added alot of item specifics like brand, colour, size and many others depending on what your list.
I've been working my way through these on our store. Its long!

But taken off my ebay performance as of today, We are up 12.8% over the last 31 days. But compared to the same period a year ago we are down 2.7%

    So not to bad.

Edited: To say, we only sell to UK.

What other platforms do you sell on?

    Hi Fletcher
I sell on Etsy and Zazzle, they are both holding up as usual. Interesting as it was when I changed / updated item specifics (as requested) that things started to slow down. I may revisit them and see if I screwed something up.

Good to hear you are holding up, it means there is still hope for eBay.

    Cheers

I am down 70% on the same period last year, granted eBay has never been a massive earner for me, but the drop is quite obvious. I see some more digging required.

Im down on my ebay sales, and I don't sell dye sub stuff, just pin badges, a lot of the change for me came in when they swapped the payments over from paypal to their own.

Wow, to be down by 70% is a massive drop.
Id double check your item specifics and advert search words.
eBay is my biggest selling platform. We have 2 shops, (so when one is on a ban the other still makes money)
Amazon is ok but nothing special.

Fletcher, I like your tactic with the two shops.

I have never really pushed eBay, but it's something I was pondering as I was checking figures. Having been in business for over 30 years I tend ride out highs and lows as that's business.

I can see me doing some digging.

Ebay is a fraction of what it was for us. Ebay customers arent really our target customers, too much price driven. Sales wise we are approx 90% down on our numbers from 3 years ago. Obviously we would like more sales but not prepared to do what we would need to do to to get them.

    Onwards and upwards etc etc.

    Froggy,
I agree, I am at the top end of the price range in my market. The concept of working hard for pennies is not my game.

Well isn't Ebay a funny old thing! Last night it appears somebody turned my Ebay sales back on. Previous levels returned. I shall now wait and see if it continues.
