Mug oven recommendations. Single or double fan…

    Hi Guys,

We are interested in a mug oven and are looking for recommendations. We have seen the Blizzard BC01 is highly recommended by other forum users. This is a twin fan type convection oven but is out of stock in most places at the moment.
Has anyone else had success with a single fan type or would the heat be uneven?
Does anyone know if this would be suitable?

Would look to try two shelves of mugs at a time with wraps around them.

    Many thanks for your time…

I'm sure you've googled the hell out of the blizzard but still for sale here - https://www.caterkwik.co.uk/cgi-bin/...=showprod_BCO1

Thanks for the reply, sadly they are not in stock with them until mid / End March.

Hopeful that an alternative could be sourced before then. I’m seeing lots of alternatives but want something reliable. Seen one called Hendi oven that looks similar.

Perhaps they are all similar manufactured and rebadged under different names ?

We bought a dedicated 70l sublimation oven from "that company we are not allowed to say on this forum" which is FANTASTIC and is still available from alternative supplier Neil Brothers:

I am tagging GAZFOCUS on this thread as he might want to offload one of his.

He has a couple I think but couldn't get on with them so might be willing to sell one...

    Thanks Simon.

To clarify, it wasn’t such that we couldn’t get on with them (the issues we were having followed us to our new ovens), but we opted to go for proper sublimation ovens that have built in timers and thermometers.

Having said that, we did many mugs with our BC01’s, of which we have three, and they are great little ovens.

I actually have them listed in the for sale section of the listing is still there :)

I am sure you haven't, but just to clarify, there was no malice in my comment :-)

Sorry to hear that you had the same problems. Are you all sorted now?

Thanks for the help. Likely to go for the Neil Brothers sublimation type one I think.

No, not at all, no offence felt :)

Nope, now getting blurring at the top of the mugs with xpres 5013’s. The thing is we can go days without any problems, then yesterday we threw out 60 mugs. It’s driving me insane.

Looking at the photo do a couple of things...

Firstly, put a steel ruler (or something straight) to make sure there is no "air" where it blurs. If you are unsure what I mean then ask and I will post a picture.

Secondly, if it happens, put the clamp to one side. Get another mug but turn the clamp upside down. If the blurring appears in the same place then it can not be the clamps, but if it is on the opposite side and at the bottom it would indicate the clamp has deteriorated.

By the way, if I was knocking out this sort of design and not full wraps I would consider purchasing mug presses instead. Stand alone ones and have as many as 5-10 on the go at once.
