Anyone have an opinion on Brother printers for sub, particularly the MFC-J5330dw

    Hi to everyone.

    I'm new to the forum.

I'm currently researching products for a small home sub printing setup.

I will be selling tee shirts, hoodies and mugs with additional smalls like coasters, slate etc being looked at.

Does anyone have any personal experience with Brotherprinters for sub printing? I would be particularly interested in anyone with personal experience of the MFC J5330dw which is an A3 size printer.

Reliability issues, economy with ink etc.

Alternatively let me know what you are using that has impressed you.

    Very much appreciated.

    Paul

Never used one, but I remember that the earlier generation of Brother 'a3' printers were only rated as a3 capable for occasional use.

If you think that you will need regular a3 printing it will be worth checking that this printer will do the job.

Are refilable cartridges available? After market sublimation ink is so cheap that as long as you can use a cis or refilables ink cost is not a big factor.
Does this model use Piezo or Thermal printheads? Sublimation ink needs a Piezo printhead, as used by Epson. Brother also use Piezo heads, but I don't know if that is the case for this model.

K had a few of them. They worked well if you know how to get an ICC profile and if you have some skills and knowledge about sublimation. If not, I wouldn't recommend it.

Thanks for the advice, as I'm a newbie I’ll go the Epson ET route, just need to figure out which model.
