    Cricut rant.

I have a cricut so it’s fair that I have an opinion.

I bought one during lockdown to create edible cake toppers nothing else.
I have a edible ink printer and icing sheets and wafer paper and card.

Now it’s always been ok at best and always plays up with cuts being off and software updates making everything go tits up.

Then your hounded to buy subscriptions and designs.
warranty os limited and 12m at best after that you have a paperweight if it fails.

so why does everyone love cricut?
It’s really beginning to p**s me off the fan boys of cricut pushing everyone to buy one.

I don't have a Cricut but do have a Silhouette (Mk II I thunk). Another piece of junk that everyone thought was the bees knees. Reg mark detection is useless, media slipping in rollers, very noisy, poor cutting blades and mats, software that wouldn't save to SVG, ... the list goes on.

Eventually I gave up and bought an 18" Silver Bullet that runs well with Sure-Cuts-A-Lot (SCAL) software and have never looked back. I've kept the Silhouette as a backup machine (laughable, eh?!) but it's been untouched and gathering dust for years since I bought the Bullet.

I get so frustrated everyone telling people to buy one and pushing the junk on to unsuspecting fools.

It is being aimed at the crafter market and that is in turn evolving into the side hustle side of the business. Side hustles have always been a pain in the industry, low quality equipment at a cheap price.

Cricuts are awful, my silhouette cameo runs circles around them, in the laser world we have the glowforge which is the cricut of lasers (often known as the slowforge) the reason they are lauded and people push them is the benefits that comes with a code you can give out

I am forever pushing people away from cricut then a week later it's look what i bought.
Then a barrage of problems start.

The company is a shambles there is little to no CS support and i spent months on reddit explaining how to fix cricuts massive balls up after a windows update rendered machines useless.
    I don't Get it.

From someone that bought one as a massive mistake - stay away from cricut.
