Flush the ink from a printer

Hi, I picked up an ET-15000 at an absolute steal, still boxed. However, when opened it was clear that it had been opened before and whoever opened it had filled the ink tanks 😞.

Is it possible to syringe the ink out and flushing everything through?

I’ve heard that it is not but not sure I understand why, surely if it is flushed it will be fine.

Please educate me, a couple of FB groups just say ‘no’ but I’d like to understand why this might be the case.

if it can’t then I will just use it in the home office instead

Does this machine just use small cartridges? If so you could buy some empty carts and refill to flush through I would think.
