this is old post but that is from print pin wheel. they are tiny wheels with pin like points that feed the paper through they have ink on them and so it goes onto the paper and when heatpress turns dark
to clean them you need to do the following get some material ribbon like what people sew onto say a dress maybe 4cm wide etc, then cellotape same width card at 1 end this can be 4-5 cm long...this is so you can push it through the front of the machine where the paper comes out.
you need isopropyl alcohol also so all these items are good to have in to do this every so often when this issue happens.
so now you have a strip of ribbon which i normal have one about 40cm long with say 5cm of card taped to 1 end. now open the printer lid and also pull out the front tray of the printer.
maybe have a plate or tray at hand for the mess and stretch the ribbon out and pour some of the alcohol onto the middle of the ribbon so it is soaked and then feed the cardboard end through the front of the printer which is fiddly and look into the top of the printer to see it coming through and grab it and now slowly pull it so the alcohol soaked part is where those pin wheels are which are usually all in a row and usually metal but sometimes plastic they are round but with little pin like points all way around and pull the ribbon gentle as far in then as far out as you can so the alcohol section is cleaning the whole of the discs and go along the whole row of them. keep doing this a few times you may need more alcohol also.
dont worry it drys fast on stuff with it being high proof stuff
