New unisub coaster backing is terrible and bends!

Hi there i have been using unisub square 9cm hardback coasters for a good few years and never a issue...i started out using cheapo black backed coasters but they bent when pressing.

I found a while ago the company unisub use for the backings was going bust so they had to find a new supplier so there was a short while when there was no new stock of their coasters.

I got sent a sample of the new version of their coasters eith the new back which is pale and made by another company...

Well i find the new backing not good at all it bends when pressing and i do not have my machine set to heavy pressure...its just enough that is required and needed for the ink to fully transfer.

Anyone else found this with the new versions?

Any ither brands i can use as these are not suitable at all and im not messing about oressing it from the other side either as i had to do this with the cheapo coasters

If MDF was so great, they would have used it years ago. Yes, my new Unisub coasters were slightly warped when pressed at 180 degrees. But they only wobbled about when turned upside down on the table, so I let it pass.

Its a shame but i can not use them as they are just not suitable for selling. I as a customer would not be pleased with a bent coaster.

Ill have to find a new coaster supplier luckily i have a few boxes of the old ones left

I don't think it is noticeable. I doubt the others are any different. What temperature did you press them at?

Mine was as i tried a few and side view was very noticeable. The hardback had zero bend

I have to do 180 minimum or ink does not fully transfer and ends up patchy for 60 seconds
