    Wink Sunday morning tweaking.....bollocks :)

2 weeks ago I headed in to the cellar and dug out some of the mothballed equipment etc. Now this all very well but it brings with a few unexpected detours.

I decided that although the Ricoh 3110 fired up fine, the inks were so old, the use by dates were in Roman numerals. The printer has done a lot of work when in use and given the cost of new inks I decided to go for an Epson ET-1810 from Inkexperts. All good there.

More digging around in the cellar and I find cases of mugs still there. Excellent something to play with. Ahh all Listawood, but no surprise as I liked them.
Dig out the mug press GK Knight, fired that up and its all working. Get the temperatures dialled in for the different paper and inks and all is "tickity boo". I have an oven that I used for mug warming it'll squeeze in 4 mugs (I think it was £29.99 from Curry's many years ago!). Hmmm I wonder what printing mugs in the oven is like? Check out the thread on here about ovens and I had a play. All is good.

Now in doing this I am eating through the few cases of mugs I had laying around. No problem I'll just order some more, ohh hang on Listawod don't exist any more. Bollocks! Hmmm I'd better have spare element for the press, ohh hang on it appears GK 3 elements aren't obviously available in the UK anymore. Bollocks and more bollocks!

OK over to Xpres and order some 11oz orca mugs, fine except, pressing to / oven times are different, the mugs are slightly different proportions, bollocks! Expected but it still means a re-tweak of things.

Ok So I have 3 Adkins mug presses and 2 BMS (remember them?) from when I did a lot of mugs. The cellar has taken it's toll on them. A bit of swapping of parts and 1 Adkins is working and 1 BMS (ish). So I'll check out the cost of new elements for the Adkins, ouch expensive. Bollocks!

So decision made I shall continue with what I have to hand. If I can get the business up running properly, I'll be buying an oven.

If the mugs kick off again I might continue into other things. I'll dig out the A3 press and get an A3 printer, or dig out the A2 press and go wide format, or not. Hmmm wide format printers are still a tad expensive. Bollocks!

Ahhh Sunday morning bollocks a plenty.

    Time for yet more coffee.

    Happy Sunday.
    Janners

    I appears BMS still exist!
