    shop software

What software do you use for your website?

i use cubecart V4 its not free its just over £100 roughly
but once you have 1 licence you get discount on a second so if anyone else needs one let me know

cubecart is quite good actually i tried a couple of the free shop's about and found they didn't really provide what was needed.
saying that there's still quite a few things that cubecart don't provide
and alot of the mods you want are premium and cost a fortune

    i'd give it 8/10 though

    I use www.ekmpowershop.com.

There's no contract but there is a £19.99+VAT payment each month. I think it's very easy to use "out of the box". You can create custom templates but I'm happy with the layout of mine currently.

EKM doesn't allow the user to upload an image - that's about £200+. Shame!

ouch barry thats a lot of money to pay out each month
and you can't upload any images without paying????

i presume it's hosted on their server and not yours then?
my shop is hosted on my server so i can upload as many pics as i want and obviously as long as i stay within my server size its free

Sorry - caused some confusion I think! I can upload as many images as I like fpr each product etc (as long as they are less than 350K I think).

When I say "user" I mean the customer buying via the shop. They can add a mug etc to the basket, but have no way of uploading an image to print onto the mug - they have to email that to me following the instructions in the order confirmation email.

Zen Cart is a good shop program and buyers can upload images direct from the page when placing an order. Whilst it is free, there is a little bit of a learning curve in getting it all set up right.

Probably the two hottest candidates at the moment are OpenCart and Prestashop, both of whom are in the process of releasing radically revamped cart programs within the next month or so.

yep i have a trial of the new prestashop going, and my friend who helps with my webstuff is on their team, - im sure there is a post already about this, as i remember several members joining fatmaggot with various "funny names" - perhaps its in the software part of the forum ?? - shame, as yet again we will have two posts running along a similar theme, both offering good replies.

oh yes here it is page 2 of software http://www.dyesubforum.co.uk/vbforum...-Cart-Software
