Is dyesub ink on mugs raised or flat?

Just wondering as I've seen various printed mugs but wondering if the dyesub ink comes out slightly raised or if it's flat to the surface like a photo.

    Thanks.

    Completely flat on mine.
Ride it like you stole it shiny side up.

You shouldn't be able to feel the image on a dye sub item as it penetrates into the material

Completely smooth to the touch as it is effectively inside the clear glaze on the mug. Raised texture is either through screen printing or colour laser transfer.
