Can anyone tell me what settings I should be using (print quality / paper etc) as a starting point on Epson 1400 please?

    Thanks

    starting point is:

    paper type: mate
    print quality: photo
    ICM: thicked
icc/profile/collor correction/colormenagmen: OFF (so many choices as iam not sure what one is in your printer driver)

Ah! Just the man! Where do I find the ICM and icc profile settings please?

I'll tell you what it is - colours all print really well but don't have the real vivid hues in which they were painted. I need to get the colours brighter and more obvious. Will post some photos of original illustrations and the prints. Thanks

The other question is what inks are you using?
ICC profiles are dependent on your ink set, and so you may not have great results using an Artainium ICC if your inks are different.

Download and run the file. It's an exe file so installs automatically once you finish registering.
