Some people always have issues with Epson printers, other people never have any issues. Chance are, if you have problems with the 1400, you'll have problems with any Epson printer.

The printer you link to is not an "approved" printer, but you may be able to use it for dye-sub work. To learn which printers are best suited to dye-sub and how much work you may need to put into them, check out this handy information page: http://www.dyesubforum.co.uk/vbforum...-Which-Printer

As with many questions along these lines, you need to determine if it is the printer that is causing the problem or an ink flow issue as a result of your CIS and air leaking - an air leak will cause the inks to move away from the printhead resulting in a head clean to purge the system each time.

Work through the FAQ on this matter (I can't get a good nozzle check despite many head cleans)...

If the 1400 works with normal inks then the problem lies with your refillable cartridges. If the problem is your refillable cartridges then you'll only push the same problem onto the other Epson printer.
