If the attack is primarily from China, why don't they just block China's IP addresses? Or don't they have a firewall that's up to the task?
my server prob gets about 10 ppl trying to hack it everyday
it just automatically blocks them after 5 attempts
which is a pain as it has blocked me many times as my ip changes alot lol

Sorry to jump in on your questions, but I'm still trying to figure what they gain, can some some tell me please, and why the do it.
Good idea! Although if it's anything like in the movies that would be too easy, lol.
Maybe the hack was re-routed somehow though, there are programs out there that can 'spoof' your IP-Address to a different country entirely through SSL technology...I bought a laptop off eBay once that had it installed, I think it was called Viper VPN or something like that - needless to say I deleted it straight away, not sure how legal things like that are
