I realise these are 2012 posts, but would like to know if any of these printers are still in use and if not what caused them to die.

We are considering the new Brother T series as sublimation printers, but they are not available on the UK market as of yet.

Looking to import one in and weigh up the cost and performance in relation to an Epson Ecotank, which are currently the more viable option.

We have previously found Brother to be lacking in photographic quality when compared to Epson machines, but I'm talking back in the old DCP 197 / MFC J4110 days.
Hopefully the print heads and colour correction on them has improved (nothing a good profile won't fix).

The problems we had with previous Brother printers being used as sub printers lay in their refillable cartridges.

Brother are one of those manufacturers that push updates to your machine that kill 3rd party cartridge compatibility.
We were having to replace RIC's every few months because of this and it became a huge hassle, so bad in fact that we cut ties with our Brother supplier.

With the new T series this shouldn't be a problem, so keep your eyes peeled for another product test from us in the coming months.

For Dye Sublimation, yes we will be producing a custom ICC during the testing phases.
