    Ink Suppliers

I have been away from things for a good while, I have an Epson D92 printer which has refillable cartridges in it but has not been used in over a year. I'm looking to try and get up and running for as little as possible to get some money flowing again. Can anyone suggest a low cost supplier or a nice cheap way to get running again.

I'm sure Martin at BMS will be able to help you get up and running again. He's a regular on here and gives plenty of advice on what you will need and the best way for you to procede. Obviously plenty of other suppliers about but the support factor is important in getting up and running again.

The new Ricoh printers are a good way to get back into it, should be pretty straight forward. I've not had success with them myself but many others swear by them. It's not the cheapest option but probably the quickest.

the new Epson B1100 is a good entry point if you want to do A3, otherwise the B40W for A4 work. You can still pick up Epson D88/D120 or a 1400 and then use either refil carts to get you going or a bulk ink system if you prefer.

    Re: Ink Suppliers

The cheapest new printer and ink cartridge route is the Ricoh GXe3300. We have free delivery on this for DyeSub Forum members at present and this is £259 +vat for the A4 printer and a full set of cartridges. The D92 wasn't supported for sublimation printing and if you decide to go with the D92 then you'll have to use the refill bottles of inks - I would suggest you test the D92 thoroughly with ordinary inks before you spend money on sublimation inks. It may be a false economy though as there aren't any profiles for the D92 and whilst it was originally tested by Sawgrass it failed the rigour of testing.

I own epson B1100 and I must say is very good for this job and very cheap as well. Also I use reffilable carts. I made custom ICC profile for my printer. you read more about is here: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=268&p=2327#p2327
