    paper or silicon ?

hi guys i hope to get my mug press tomorow i have seen on you tube about wrapping the mug in a peice of white paper to stop ink bleeding through to the blanket. i have just been reading on another post about people using silicon sheet around the mug is this for the same reason or another reason

    thanks steve

i never used anything to protect my blanket and never had any bleed. but if i use one it will be teflon sheet.
silicon has bit different purpose. its for smaller mugs that are bit loose in the press or has uneven surface.

I don't think he literally meant strips, he means cut down to mug size, or slightly bigger

we found that provided you cover the whole mug with sub paper, then we never have a bleed problem, the odd time we have been tight and trimmed the paper too tight to the image so some mug is not covered, then there can be a danger of bleed through from the blanket.
BUT - given that the paper cost is low compared to the ink (or mug cost) we only print 3 mugs per A4 - and make sure we have enough sub paper to fully cover each of the 3 mugs, and then never get any bleed through.
    Easy !

Use a decent paper like TRUPIX and then you should never get any bleed through.
