Question Is Direct to Garment printing getting rid of transfer printing?

    Hi,

I'm setting up a new t-shirt printing business in the UK and have been doing some research on the internet about printing methods and wanted to know if people think that Direct to Garment printing will make transfer printing with a heat press obsolete?

    Thanks
    Pascale

DTG printing isn't new, it's been around quite some time and co-existed with other forms of printing too. Long may it last.

    No it wont.

Transfer printing is very quick and simple, cheap and versitile. DTG is good for some applications but try and do a sleeve on it....also garments need pre-treating etc. Don't forget screen printing and embroidery - both excellent ways of producing high quality output.

No, these technologies will run in parallel for decades...... look at your anticipated workflow and choose appropriate technology accordingly.

I did add two more dots than the required 10 characters, decided to stop after that as I thought I was waffling
