You should get a slightly crisper image with Trupix. Xpres usually does the job though as most people are not looking that close to make a difference.

Used Xpres paper for years and it's very good. Factor in the price and it's even better! I did switch to Trupix as I find it a little better for the designs I work with but still use the Xpres paper for particular jobs.

I went the opposite way to Justin and now use Xpres. Didn't tell the customers (they would not care) and even on repeat jobs I used the different paper. Not one person noticed. However Andrew is correct in what he says and if your customers are really fussy or something like a photographer then perhaps Tru Pix is your best route.

I find that the Trupix is better where I have a solid vector graphic but totally agree, it's a great paper for the price.......especially as Xpres now offering Premium Members a discount :-)

We've used Coldenhove's JetCol sublimation paper for years, but when we went to order some more a few weeks back suppliers didn't have the size in we needed, so in a hurry went and got a roll of TruePix. There was a marked difference in using the TruePix, the colours and print on the final product were more washed out (in they were less sharply detailed - fuzzy- but also not as vibrant), with a lot of image remaining on the page after pressing. We would need to make a new ICC profile to really judge it, as the profile we were using was made for the JetCol, and it didn't cross over well at all. We are now trying out a roll of InkTec's sublimation paper - have printed off the targets to make the new ICC and got them onto the aluminium sheeting, but my ICC software has a bit crazy, which is taking some sorting out before I can get the profile made. But in transferring the images to the aluminium at leat we are back to a paper that transfers a lot more ink again. I am planning on doing some comparative prints to show the differences, and will post when done.

I've discussed it a couple of times on the forum this last week or two. We're still ironing out the procedure but for the time being I can give a contact name and telephone number and you'll get up to 10%.

Good to have xpres on board.

Could you post the details up on the Premium members section?
