Heat Tape = Polymide Tape/Kapton Tape

On some searching around Ebay for heat tape, I discovered it is actually called Polymide tape or Kaptop tape. I'd known that the tape we all use isn't really specific to sublimation use, and must have a wider industrial purpose, and so I am glas to find out what the product is actually called.
Not had a chance to check the pricing to see if we're paying more for buying "sublimation tape" as opposed to just plain polymide tape yet though.
I also noticed that there is a lot more choice in roll lengths and thicknesses when searching the generic product.

I went into a builders merchant and asked for heat tape which withstands temperatures of 200+ degrees, it's a foil tape and being wider is easier to handle...still got some of it!

On Ebay, you can get Polymide tapes upto 50cm width! (maybe more)
and also cut into any non-standard width, or dye cut pieces

We still use masking tape. If it is good enough for spray shops and their ovens it has enough heat resistance to work in a press. Problem is finding the only single brand that doesn't leave residue. Lots of trial and error but we now pay less than a quid per roll.
