    Greetings From Canada

    Hi All,

I'm a beginner Dye-Subber with background in Fine Art photo printing, currently setting up shop. Using Epson F7200 and F570 printers, and Epson's DS Transfer papers, though I did just receive some Felix Schoeller S-Race to test.

Our focus will be pressing to Chromaluxe aluminum panels, using Hix Swingman for smaller panels and the SEFA Sublimax 2513, (which we are still waiting for to clear customs) for big panel transfers.

Burning through a lot of 8x12 panels dialing in ICC profiles and trying to figure out best practices for transferring.

Thanks for allowing me into your community.

    Welcome to Dsf.

Why don’t you start with smaller items whilst getting things setup?
wasting 8x12 sheets isn’t good. couldn’t you cut that into smaller pieces to get setup.

Do your icc profiles match your inks and paper setup?

Thanks for offering the advice. The 8"x12" panels unfortunately are the smallest panel we have on hand and do represent the smallest of the print size we are planning on offering. Hoping to get a proper cutting solution installed over the next few weeks so that we might custom size up bigger 4'x8' sheets.

Been working with both Wasatch SoftRip and Epson Edge print and developing and tweaking ICC profiles. Have currently got to the point now that both printers seem to be matching up colour-wise. Biggest problem we have though, is the F570 doesn't seem to want to print pure blacks when using the Wasatch, of course this is compounded by the fact we have HDK Black in the F7200 and it prints beautiful clean blacks. Thinking at this point the F570 may be relegated to backup status or for smaller print runs not requiring large areas of pure pure black.

Our primary clientele will be photographers, who seem to be amongst the most demanding in their colour reproduction requirements, hence the tweaking of the ICC profiles and paper choices.
I have already managed to pick up a few tips and tricks from my cursory forum browsing and I hope to over time be able to contribute some of what I learn.

    Thanks again,
    RGB
