    Roland BN-20 Head Wash beeping.

I bought this printer used and while starting it up, the printing was not good. I performed multiple nozzles cleans and got it to a stage where the print got better, But the cyan in was still giving me problems. I got the cleaning liquid for sol ink and performed a head wash. I followed all the instructions but when it started the head wash execution, it just starts beeping for a long time then it stops, and the head wash window goes away. When I press the head wash button again it does not let me proceed it just keeps closing the window every time i click on head wash. I have a brand-new waste ink cartridge installed and the cleaning liquid is brand new. I am not sure if the procedure is being executed because the tubes where the ink runs through don't appear to be clean or appear to have any cleaning liquid in the.

Why are you running a head wash?

if your trying to bring back the nozzle check pattern then head cleans are better.
The Roland engineer told me medium is best option.

im not sure why your beeping?
Have you removed and reinserted the cartridges.
Make sure the cover is closed as is the clear front door.

Try powering off the printer and pc and reboot both.

I am running a head wash because I did multiple head cleans on medium and on powerful and the problem is still there the blue will not print.

Yes I have removed and reinserted the cartridges, the waste cartridge and made sure everything is close. I also shut everything off for a few minutes before powering it back on and still get the same problem. It only beeps when i try to run the head wash. When i do anything else it works perfectly fine, apart from the blue ink not printing, which is why im doing the head wash.

If there’s no cyan at all check the captop is pulling ink through and the dampers but if it’s both lines on cyan it could be the damper.

mine went the same a few weeks ago and a new damper solved it.
although I was getting cyan back after a few medium cleans before it disappeared again.

worst case scenario is the print head. (£1800) plus fitting and costs.
maybe call an engineer and get it looked at.
