Its just the backing peeling as i tried 6 coasters and each had it

So i dont think i will use them
Not sure if i will even bother trying them with tape in that case :( - just speaking to a local firm about getting some jigs made - the ones from sublimania work well - until they warp :(

I do not make massive numbers so jigs are not for me plus they seem like would take longer than just rouch cutting round the image and sticking it on which takes 30 seconds

There was some metal jigs on ebay that were for unisub coasters maybe they would work

Side by side checking print quality compare to the unisub ones they are litterally identical so unisub making out their tops are the best is a load of make believe

The unisub jigs are a pain - fusion 40x50 press used so can only do 6 at a time with the steel unisub ones they also have no bottoms so you cant get a load ready to put in press - with the a4 jigs we can still do 12 at a time.
But good to hear that the print quality is on par with unisub - shame they are a bit thinner - these also dont have the bullnose edge like unisub so feel more sharp on the edges if that makes sense.

Oh yes makes sense. Xpres replied to me as i forgot to message the guy who sent samples and told him the issue and hes said alot of said the same about peelin
And to try pre-press the back first to remove any moisture to see if that stops peeling

My issue is this makes making coasters take even longer

Because really i would then have to wait till fully cooled before pressing the design on as the warmth/heat can start the sub process and cause image issues

I have 5 boxes of 40 old unisub to last me....then ive no idea what to do

But the Xpres ones are going to be way too much work to stop the back messing up for me to warrant the extra cost as they are more expensive

Yes its ones xpres have sourced themselves because they also have had complaints about the new unisub ones.

But unfortunately the xpres hardback ones peel even more so than unisub and others. Inwas told to try pre-pressing the back of them to get rid of moisture first as they have had others also complain about the same issue with their hardboard versions

So its a shame as i do not want to go back to having to press a coaster more than once just for it to be ok more so as they cost more money than the unisub ones

Maybe if they were 50 to 55p per coaster but they are 66p which is 7p more per coaster than i was paying for unisub ones and my profits are slim on coasters as it is

Thank you, do you get any colour transfer? I usually put parchment paper down - with old Unisub there was no problem leaving it but new one I have to change every couple of presses otherwise get colour transfer on back
