    1. Say I was at a Gig where you "could" take pictures. Could I then print that on to a tee and flog them.

    2. Say I was walking down the highstreet and I snap someone. Could I then print that on to a tee and flog them.
Yes on both, but it is very unlikely that you will ever be at a gig where you "could" take pictures for commercial purposes. It will be in their T&Cs somewhere

    1. No because the band are a brand and you are trading off their reputation. Pop stars have publicity rights which is a bit like a trademark and many of them are exercising those rights against online sellers.

    2. Yes, but that person has privacy rights. If that tee shirt you sold also had a slogan on it saying "Drugs are cool" they could sue you. It is illegal to photograph someone without consent in public in France and Greece.

Anyone else find it surprising that those that are into copying, stealing and plagiarism go very quiet and have no response unless to throw abuse?

Not at all ArferMo, as far as I am aware you are not one who comes on here asking questions and then gets offended when you do not hear the answer you want to hear

You did ask a question which I presume you are happy with the response

So who was it aimed at Socialgiraffe? As all my questions were making sure I didn't breech copyright so I can only assume it was aimed at someone else?

    Mugbox

It was aimed at anyone and everyone who does not have a clear conscience, it is aimed at those who see something on the web and think "that's a good idea" how can I copy it, it is aimed at those who say "I have the license" when it is obvious they don't, it is aimed at those who think its okay to sell One Direction (for example) merchandise as they are multi millionaires without so much as a thought for the likes of me who print their official merchandise - you are stealing from me as well as them. It is aimed at anyone who asks such stupid questions on here and then when they do not get the answer they want they go on the offensive.

Pisquee answered your question "if its not your idea then it is a breech" but you didn't like it.

If you feel you do not fit in the above statement then its not aimed at you mate.

I have been in the Army for 18 plus years now and we alway teach our blokes that there is no such thing as a stupid question as there will always be someone out there who is thinking the same but doesn't want to ask. I ask out of interest, as this is simply fun for me as I am just playing and have a captive audience with the military to make a little pocket money to pay for the annual family holiday.

This disagreement didn't start from me not accepting Pisquee answer, I fully accepted that and was clear from the start I didn't wish to breech copyright or steal anyones business. My observation was simply 'please just because you have paid a tenner and have premium membership don't belittle us new guys who might ask that (in the mind of the experienced) stupid question. And also I teach my kids to be courteous and polite whenever they speak to people. It isn't hard.

This debate could go on but I am sure it doesn't need to. Like I said 12 posts ago I have some great responses to most of the 'stupid' questions I have asked so lets not dwell on the past and move on.

PS can I print TShirts with Barry Styles on? :)))

This "if its not your idea then it is a breech" is incorrect where copyright is concerned if I have an idea for a design and say to 2 different designers this is what I want and they go off and each produce a design, the one who finnishes second is not in breach of the one who finnishes first.
