    hiya

do we make profit via web site and ebay and the other selling platforms ? YES, or we wouldn't be doing it.

import the cases from abroad yourself for more profit - simples

and £2.99 per case still has "ok" margin, but at those prices, you are basically turning and burning stock quick - which for ebay selling is a good thing !!

bottom line here is - how much profit margin do you want per sale - every business model has differant factors regarding this and i,m not going into details on here ;)

other option is use a cheap basic website for your port of call, eg contact details and stuff you sell etc, i have found most of my work comes word of mouth and that is the main money earner in my business,

from a marketing point of view, having your own web site is a must these days....but having a bad one, is just counter productive...as it will do you more harm than good tbh

web sites are not a get rich quick scheme by any means my friend, and they take time, money, patience, a swear box, marketing and er...more money.

i aint giving any figures out, but obviously getting sale through your own web site is doing away with any ebay/amazon fees = more profit...but the hard bit with any web site is......getting noticed.
ask ANY of the long term members on here who have web site, then will tell you ( not much lol ) that it takes time

and the points i made above reflect that - what i will say, since we started in 2012, the sub/personalised market has become just a tad saturated to say the least these days- everyone and there granny is doing it now...and thats why you see some of the prices on ebay selling at stupid low prices -
noob coming into the business and not doing there research - thinking they can get the big sales in and have a regular customer base within 2/3 months lol...then finding out 6 months down the line - er... "i aint making much here and i,m busting my balls doing it"
so it takes a wee bit more thought and effort to generate the sales, eps from a web site today.
again, that comes down to marketing, and how much you put into it.

but on the other foot...eps where ebay is concerned, some of the low prices could just be sellers wanting to shift old stock ,or get there defect rate down quick-er, or trying to p*** off there competition on there or or or....

    there you go my friend....
take your time, read A LOT on here, learn and learn some more....and i dont just mean how to work the machines, times, temps ect, take time and learn about the business you want to get into FULLY...before you commit to spending £,s on anything :-)...unless you already have lol

there are a LOT of wee things you can do to improve sales - some legit, some dam right sneaky..but thats business for ya - you will learn them as you go along, as i,m sure no one on here will tell you how they drive traffic to there web site or ebay/amazon stores..

Thanks for the long explanation bigj..I am checking this up for over 2 years .Got so many things up from this forum too......I do sell on ebay and make money there over a year but I don't sell for low prices.. I am using a bit different way so I get a bit of orders from ebay. But hate ebay as their stupid policies and always you get doggy customers there claiming for free stuff.that is the main reason I thought about a web site ..I know Its a challenge but I have a IT back ground and hope I can do better ...Ill update you when the site is ready .Thank you so much again ..And I too like to help ppl like you but not that experienced yet ..
