Just for the record ... You can use sublimation with 3g Jet-Pro Opaque. I've done it myself, with transfers onto nylon drawstring bags. The Neenah documentation says you can use dye, pigment and sublimation inks.

Hi Webtrekker
Did you have any results using Easy subli on your Ricoh SG 3110 dn?
We have an SG 7100dn but whatever settings we tried the reults were very poor
especially the black outlines on logo's were very blurry.
I hope you have found the right settings!
Greetings
Ron
No Ron, I ended up not ordering any, as explained in my post #19 -Hi Webtrekker

It's just wouldn't be cost-effective for me I'm afraid.
Same goes with the Xpres Inkjet Dark. Bought a box specifically because they say it is usable with sublimation ink. Bleeds badly from the first wash. Xpres have had £100 of my money for something that doesn't work. If I misled a customer for £100 I would be in trouble.
I have just tested the siser easy subli paper. Printed using HD inks on an SG400. Then transferred onto a cameo for cutting using registration marks. Transferred onto 100% cotton at 155 degrees for 15 seconds.
I have to say, I'm blown away by the results. A really good quality print, and a nice feel after transferring. I ran through a washing machine inside out at 40 degrees, and there is no loss of image quality at all.
You need to take care to let the design dry fully before cutting and peeling away from backing, to prevent smudging, also include a small cut line. Other than that it's awesome!
I am going to trial it for workwear and see how it performs. I'll provide an update once I have more info!

I badly want this product to work as Siser claim it does. I have tried several other similar products that provide only a temporary solution. Some bleed even without a wash.
It really does the job, it's a little bit tricky to use with having to transfer from the subli printer to the cutter, and you need to be careful not to smudge the design. I have only hand peeled designs off the transfer sheet, but I have ordered some backing high tack sheets which should arrive today or tommorow to test out. I've worked out that for 5 left chest logos, it works out at around £0.55p + ink costs per logo from one sheet of A4. So I'm super excited.

Let us know how it performs after a few washes.

This is a mess about with the new siser easy subli. I will wash this garment over the next few days and provide feedback.
One issue I have found is with the mask not transferring the vinyl from the backing to the carrier very well. This isn't an issue on larger chunkier logos, but is hard-work on more intricate lettering and details.
I am going to try the following and report back:
Print design (minimum ink saturation needed)
Dry design fully
Cut design using a lower cut force.
Weed design
Stick transfer sheet to design, pressing down where needed with palm of hand as instructed by siser and leave for 10 to 15 minutes.
This is a known issue and I have seen a few reports, so I will try the solution and let you know how it goes.
Ok....
Siser Easi Subli paper
SG400 Printer using Sublijet HD inks not the siser easi subli inks.
Happy with the colours
Happy with the feel of the logo it's excellent
Happy with the wash-ability of the logos so far, after washing an item 5 times with no noticeable colour loss.
This product is almost perfect....there is 1 issue though which could limit its application.
I have researched this issue and have seen it occurring in many videos online, basically the mask doesn't adhere to the printed logo very well at all. It's not too bad on larger logos, but if you plan on cutting out small intricate lettering, its probably not going to work for you.
I have cured the ink completely
I have squeegeed it to death
I have palmed it
I have left it to settle for 15 minutes before removing
I have tried heating the mask and letting it cool
I have reduced the cut force to prevent crimping of the edges into the carrier
I have been round pre loosening the edges of the design to help it along.
IMPORTANT NOTE
You must allow the ink time to cure, or cure it under your press for a few minutes, or the mask issue is much worse, also the design will smudge when cutting and handling.
The only partial solution which appears to give some results is tearing away the backing at the speed of light.
This could be due to me using sublijet inks and not sisers own and maybe remedied by buying some very high tack masking.
For larger logos and designs it's absolutely a cheap replacement for the Roland BN20 Solvent printer, and will help you to get your foot in the door. For smaller more intricate designs, you are going to struggle unless you can sort the masking issues out!
