Which product to start with?
Re: Which product to start with?
I've been thinking about a mug press for quite a while now but haven't really consider anything else. This will be a joint venture for me and the wife with wifey doing the production side of things.
As a starter what would you consider the most straight forward product to start with/dip your toe in?
Mugs, tshirts or something else?

I would start with flat items, tablemats/coasters/bookmark/jigsaw etc. Less initial wastage during testing as not too (!) much to go wrong. However before doing anything have a good think about your market, selling to family & friends is all well and good but soon saturated.
Re: Which product to start with?
Ive set a few things up before so I dont look to family and friends as a long term source of customers. Id guess with what youve suggested it means a flat press which would be a bit out of my budget and pushing the space but thanks for the replywayupnorth;110980 wrote:I would start with flat items, tablemats/coasters/bookmark/jigsaw etc. Less initial wastage during testing as not too (!) much to go wrong. Re: Which product to start with?
You were considering T shirts so a press is vital plus a printer of course... My Adkins swing away needs 900mm x 700mm bench space but a clam type would take up probably half as much. However a clam press may not be suitable for some materials such as slate but good for T shirts. And so it goes on....

Id defo go with mugs. Cheap enough to throw away if you cock it up. Which you will for the first few. And a mug press takes up no space at all.

We're going with mugs, just weighing up the final details of who to buy from then it's in at the deep end

Good choice. We use dye sublimation supplies. Jamie is really good and the products are spot on. Delivery is very fast too.

Did you use one of their starter kits? I've been looking at the Galaxy pro starter kits but reviews/experiences seem few and far between.Mugshots;111369 wrote:Good choice. We use dye sublimation supplies. Jamie is really good and the products are spot on. Delivery is very fast too.

if you dont have premium membership now is the time to pay your £10 - then you will see the deals you can get from the big suppliers Xpress (near to you at Donnington and well worth a visit) Listawood based Kings Lynn, and others who all offer great discounts to members.
For my pennies worth living as close to Xpress as you do, i would be calling them, and arranging for you two to go up to see them, and try before you buy.
