Re: Feeling very annoyed
I have Wilcom 1,5 . Very happy with it and dont need to upgrade. Upgrade costs 1,800€ and its not worth it.
My old laptop with XP is Kapput so I asked my Wilcom supplier if E1,5 works on Win10. No problem he says , so I go and buy a new Win 10 laptop. Guess what, the Wilcom e1,5 wont work on Win 10.
Tried to install Win 7 on the laptop but that doesnt work either. No drivers for the video card. So now I have a new laptop (700€) that is useless for my work.
I have to make a new website for my business and that can be installed on the new laptop.
But dont you just hate it when you believe your supplier and waste your money on something that doesnt work.

Re: Feeling very annoyed
If you have written confirmation from the supplier I would consider other possible options. Good luck, I am getting more and more into the habit of asking suppliers to put things in writing to try and "clarify" things.

Re: Feeling very annoyed
The problem is that my supplier was also led to believe that the old software would work on Win 10. Maybe I could use this to get a cheaper price on an upgrade? New version coming out soon.
Re: Feeling very annoyed
I suspect you would have already tried this but did you try changing the compatibility in properties for the software.

Here's a link to the compatibility chart for wilcom products

Re: Feeling very annoyed
how about running a virtual machine inside windows 10 - we use one by ORACLE (free) to drive old printers without modern drivers. works very well

Re: Feeling very annoyed
You can get most software to run on 10, but the skill set needed is high.
1. install latest dongle software from wilcom they have a newer HASP driver.
2. you may need to turn testsigning on (device drivers in 10 are signed)
3 Net framework 3.5 needs to be installed
Please provide a error message or screenshop when install fails may help.
you could setup dual boot if all else fails with xp.

Re: Feeling very annoyed
I had the same thing and vented my disgust at Wilcom. All it achieved was upping my blood pressure! Has left me without Coreldraw also, bar stewards all of them. Installed on my ancient laptop via an external hard drive. Machine is so slow I can make a coffee and drink it before it completes the task.
