Have the toner and media costs become more competitive with the Oki white printers? Surprised this wasn't pushed further (until Simon has made some effort ;-) ) as the system had potential.
No, media costs are still the same although I think the toner and papers have improved significantly, but what I am working on is the ability to use a standard mug that, when finished is 100% dishwasher proof. The TMT system has always had potential and in my personal opinion, people are so focused on garments that this miss everything else this system can do.

One huge mistake that people make is to purchase inferior equipment (such as the Ghost System) as they are being cheap. You HAVE to get the OKI system (or the icolor) as any other system really does not work.
Do you have a print comparison with a normal sub transfer and white toner transfer?

Which model do you have?
I have a 711WT as I only need A4 for my work. I do not have a print comparison as I have never needed one for my line of work :-)

When TMT first got heir hands on the OKI I was quite excited. Then the dishwasher bit reared it's head. Certainly at the beginning it was not very dishwasher proof. So I didn't progress. This could be rather exciting.

I don't think I have ever referred to you as "exciting"....

The problem with the dishwasher issue is actually the mugs more than the print. The coating tends to go soft in warm water and subsequently can chip. Some of my customers ask for the "NOT DISHWASHER PROOF" label to be placed in the mug and others so to leave it out.

Never had any comeback from either side and also have a set of mugs at a cafe that have undergone 6 months of dishwasher testing and have all held up. But one has chipped the coating where it has been placed too close to another item.

The problem (for me) has always been the price as I deal in bulk. However I think that has now been solved, so you could potentially purchase a mug from ASDA (no Justin I am not on commission for saying that ), decorate it, and it will be dishwasher proof.

Am currently working on something that will hopefully bring the total cost (including my) down to less than £1 :-)

Sounds good.

I have a white toner printer and was wondering whether to invest in different colour mugs + transfers. I'll give it a try.

Looks like Xpres are delivering mugs to us today which we were told were not going to arrive until mid January as only ordered them a week ago. I won't hold my breath until 2pm when due but anyone else expecting today?

They had a container that was delayed but did come into them on the 11th, but think most were already reserved. We have 3 boxes coming today but think the next container due into them is the 18th January.
