Neil Bros Orca mugs gritty inside

I ordered a load of mugs from Neil Bros and although I was happy with the quality of the print, I found a lot of them don't feel smooth inside like the 5013 mugs, in a few some cases you can actually see a big blob of some kind of caramel coloured resin that is stuck to the inside of the mug and wont come free. Has anyone else noticed this?

Not with Neil Brothers and I would contact them as they are normally very good mugs and spot on for quality

I have had grit type mugs from mdp before and stupidly didn’t complain about them.
They stain inside very badly

Used to see this issue on cheaper mugs where the inside was rough and it did stain. Not seen it in recent years on mugs we've bought.
