then any software that prints to it will use that profile.
Not sure about that JSR

I thought WORD couldn't do what your saying - I thought it doesn't have that kind of control over colours, but I could be wrong, and not for the first time!.

I think JSR is saying that if you able to set profiles in printer driver (ie. epson) then you could ue any software as you going to print via driver and manage your color via driver. not the software...

Word can't soft proof. It can't handle the profile itself. But if you set the printer driver to use the profile, then Word (or any other software) will work through that.

With older printers such as the Epson 1400, the option was available through the printer driver. Just select "ICM" and then you have drop-down boxes available to you. One is "printer profile" in which you can select your custom ICC profile. Once done, any software printing to that printer with that option will be using the ICC profile (just like the PowerDriver).

The newer models (and cheaper models) don't have that option within the printer driver, but you can set the custom profile to be the default profile for that printer. That may perform the same function - although I haven't tried it (which is why I say it depends on the printer model and printer driver), but I think I might give it a go.

Yes, that's it exactly. I suspect that's all the PowerDriver does.

i think my images were coming out blurred because in my early days of making tshirts and mugs I didn't know much about scanning image sizes and have some images that are squashed to a much smaller size, this makes them blurred. we use word as the images are more transportable and can be shown on a number of machines. My main graphics person lives in france, he uses corel, i hate the program and he hates Photoshop. so we swap idea's and images through word, this has been extremely useful in the past especially if visiting a client and they have no image software. nearly everyone has Word. it does work and is easier to manipulate for two mug designs on one A4 sheet. yes it is possibly better to print direct from a proper image software but remember with my Rotech inks, things were brilliant. am getting great results now with the power driver. Today i have been training someone to follow what i have done and they found it easy.

i know you are using a Mac, i was just suggesting it incase the profile they are doing for you gives you mixed results, just trying to help dude.
